Mr. Peacock has 17 years of legal experience, 14 of which he dedicated to representing clients in litigation cases in both State and Federal courts. He has litigation and trial experience in insurance defense representing both individuals and corporate clients in motor vehicle and premises liability cases. That work included top tier insurance companies. He has trial and litigation experience in Magnuson Moss Warranty Claims and Florida Lemon Law claims against all major auto manufactures. In 2008 Douglas Rand Peacock, Jr. founded Rand Peacock, P.A, a law firm focusing in Foreclosure Defense, Business and Consumer Litigation. During the foreclosure crisis he represented hundreds of consumers, acquiring extensive experience in consumer law and foreclosure defense including settlements, trials, and appeals. Over the years, Mr. Peacock has worked with various small to medium business claims, including: breach of contract, construction claims, fraud and recession claims that required litigation. He also has trial experience in family law cases.
Rand Peacock, Jr. is a Florida Court Appointed Arbitrator, and offers full arbitration services state wide. Having handled litigation at all stages including but not limited to the following: pre-suit investigation, drafting pleadings, drafting responses, drafting motions, conducting legal research, conducting discovery, reviewing medical and business records, insuring HIPAA compliance, filing subpoenas, conducting depositions, preparing for and attending mediation, conducting pre-trial work up, preparing pre-trial motions and briefs, preparing trial exhibits, and conducting trial, Mr. Peacock comes with a well-rounded legal perspective and hands-on litigation experience that he brings to any biding or non-binding arbitration.
His legal career began as Corporate Counsel to VBNet Incorporated. Next, he worked as a Contracts Attorney for H.T.E., Inc. In 2002 he joined the insurance defense firm of Hightower and Associates, in their Orlando branch. In 2005 he was transferred to St. Petersburg to start their new office in the Tampa Bay area. In 2007 Mr. Peacock joined Kahn and Associates, a multi-state firm specialized in consumer law where he served as the leader attorney in Florida.
Mr. Peacock obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History from University of Florida in 1996 and immediately after enrolled at the Florida State University College of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1999. While in Law School, he served as Technical Editor for the FSU Journal of Transnational Law & Policy and as Chief Judge to the Lower Student Court. In addition, Mr. Peacock was a research assistant to Professor Jim Rossi.
Mr. Peacock graduated from Winter Park High School in 1991. He obtained the rank of Eagle Scout in 1989. While attending the University of Florida, Mr. Peacock was an editorial cartoonist for the Independent Florida Alligator and Secretary for the local Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity chapter.
